The Downers Grove Township needed a new facility to serve as a senior center, a meeting place for activities, and a food pantry. Doyle was brought on to construct the 13,800 SF Township Center, which features meeting spaces, a kitchen for seniors and those in need, a food pantry, a senior center, and a prairie restoration field lab.
During the project, we encountered a challenge involving a critical electrical pole. This required a foundation redesign, which we addressed by modifying the basement layout, cutting off one corner while keeping the building's overall footprint intact. Our quick and efficient solution ensured the project stayed on schedule without any delays. In the end, we delivered a multi-functional facility that meets the Township's needs and enhances services for the senior community and those in need.
